About Gallagher & Goggins
Please sign in to see more.
This is the website for the family tree for Stevie Gallagher, from Clydebank, Scotland (Dad; Joe Gallagher, Mother: Mary Goggins).

I have been gathering info on and off, for a couple of years and as you will see have a long way to go - plenty more information and pics to be added but can't do it all myself so please email any pictures or info that you want to include. If I've forgotten to add a name or some other bit of info please don't take offence - just let me know and I'll update it.

Hail! Hail!
 Stevie Gallagher
 December 2009

IF you have any information or knowledge about anyone mentioned or you can fill in (or correct!!!) any names, dates , events etc that you think are relevant then let me know.

IF there are any stories, pictures or links to other websites that you want me to add then please send them to me at stevgal@hotmail.co.uk

IF there is any information on the website that you would like removed, edited or kept restricted then let me know and I will get it sorted.

Please note it was not unusual in South Uist for sons and daughters to be given the same name however they were usually given second names and known by them (eg Donald Joseph would be known as Joseph and Donald John would be known as John).

Much of the information on the early South Uist connections has been gained from 'Croft History, Isle of South Uist, (by Bill Lawson). If a direct citation for info such as a birth, death cert etc is not given then it is likely that the info has been established from this source. This generally applies to siblings of 'direct line' relatives.

Due to the high levels of infant deaths up to the 1930's it was not unusual for siblings to have had the same name as an earlier sibling who may have died.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
